GAU Teachers’ Association congratulates newly- appointed PM Tarique Rahman

The Teachers’ Association of Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has extended heartfelt greetings and congratulations to newly appointed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the members of the new cabinet.
In a statement, the association said that the landslide victory of the BNP in the 13th National Parliamentary Election-2026, held through democratic spirit, public expectations, and participation, has created new hope for the country’s democratic transition. The GAU Teachers’ Association expressed joy and satisfaction over this victory.
On Wednesday, at the first meeting of the association’s 2026 executive committee, a congratulatory message was issued conveying warm wishes to the new Prime Minister and cabinet members. The leaders stated that the new government, formed by the people’s mandate, will further strengthen democratic institutions and bring groundbreaking positive changes in education, research, and innovation—this is the expectation of all.
The message further expressed hope that under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, democracy and voting rights will be firmly established in the country, and good governance based on transparency and accountability will be ensured.
In this regard, the association’s General Secretary, Professor Dr. Mohammad Saiful Alam, said they believe the new government will ensure an education- and research-friendly environment. He emphasized the importance of university autonomy, academic freedom, and increased investment in research.
Meanwhile, the association’s President, Prof Dr. Nasreen Akter Ivy, stated that the new government formed through public mandate will play a positive role in development and welfare by placing education and research at the center of national priorities.
The Teachers’ Association expressed hope that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the new cabinet will uphold the spirit of the Liberation War and democratic movements and play a leading role in fulfilling public expectations.
