From trainee to entrepreneur: VDP member opens computer training center in Bishwanath

Transforming personal training into a successful entrepreneurial venture, Hira Mia, an 8th Ward Leader of the Village Defence Party (VDP) under Bishwanath Municipality in Sylhet, has established a computer training center to build technical skills among local youth.
The initiative, titled "Onyorokom IT Computer Training Center," was formally inaugurated at Bishwanath Nutan Bazar on Tuesday.
The venture aligns with strategic directives issued by Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, aimed at empowering force members through skill development, self-reliance, and self-employment initiatives.
Hira Mia completed his VDP basic training and basic computer training in 2021 before assuming responsibilities as a VDP Ward Leader in 2024. His newly launched institute provides computer education and technical skill-building opportunities for grassroots VDP members and local youth to enhance their employment and self-employment prospects.
The inauguration ceremony was attended as chief guest by Deputy Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Sylhet Range Shah Ahmad Fazle Rabbi, alongside senior departmental officials, local VDP members, and community leaders. Officers lauded Hira Mia's initiative as an inspiring model of self-reliance that contributes directly to local socioeconomic development.
