Four die as human hauler rams easy bike in Gaibandha

At least four people, who were injured after a human hauler (nosimon) rammed into an easy bike at Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha district on Thursday, died at two separate hospitals on Friday.
The deceased were identified as easy bike driver Ashraful Islam, son of Mojibur Rahman, Sabuj Mia, 38, son of Abdus Sattar Mia, residents of Kumargari area under Nakai union of the upazila; Md Belal, 50, son of Azizal and Muttalib, 52, son of late Bhola Mia of Palashbari upazila.
Meanwhile, the injured Amirul Islam, 33, is undergoing treatment at Rangpur General Hospital.
Gobindganj Police Station's officer-in-charge (OC) Shamsul Alam Shah said the accident occurred around 8 pm on Thursday when the Harinabari Bazar-bound human hauler from Nakaihat hit the easy bike, leaving five people, including the easy bike Ashraful, critically injured.
Among them, two succumbed to their injuries around 3pm on Friday while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital and two died at Gaibandha General Hospital.
The bodies of the victims were handed over to the families upon their request, he said.
Legal actions were underway in this regard, added the OC.
