
Four arrested while preparing for dacoity in sea in Kutubdia

During the preparation of the robbery in sea, 4 people were detained in the operation of the Coast Guard on Monday noon.
Coast Guard Headquarters Media Officer Lt. Commander Khandaker Munif Taqi gave informed this through a press release.
A patrol team of Bangladesh Coast Guard West Zone conducted an operation in the western beach area of Baraghop Union under Kutubdia Upazila of Cox's Bazar district based on secret information.
Based on the information received, Coast Guard ship Qutubdia and BCG Station Qutubdia jointly conducted operations in the area. During the operation, at around 0400 hours, movement of some persons in a suspicious boat was observed in the western beach area of Baraghop Union.
When the boat was signaled by the Coast Guard member to stop for search, the boat, realizing the presence of the Coast Guard, tried to escape quickly to the beach without stopping. Meanwhile, the Coast Guard raiding party chased the boat and arrested it.
After searching the boat, Md. Iqbal Hossain (20) along with 01 domestic weapon (pistol), 02 rounds of cartridges, 01 chapati, 02 hammer, 01 saber, 01 hook, 05 mobile phones and 01 engine driven wooden boat, Md. Nayan (18), Md. Hefaz (23), Md. Ashek (16) 04 dacoit members were arrested. In the initial interrogation, it was revealed that the arrested Md. Nayan (18), Md. Hefaz (23) and Md. Ashek (16) are residents of Gahira area under Anwara upazila of Chittagong district and Md. Iqbal Hossain (20) is a resident of Bashankhali area of Cox's Bazar district.
The arrested dacoits and seized indigenous weapons were handed over to Qutubdia police station for further legal action.
