Food Minister Afroza visits US wheat shipment in Ctg i, orders strict quality control

Food Minister Afroza Khanam, MP, emphasized that all personnel involved in food imports, transportation, storage, quality testing, and distribution must act with utmost integrity, efficiency, and accountability to ensure national food security.
She made the remarks on Sunday while inspecting the MV 'SPRING SKY', a vessel carrying imported wheat from the United States, at the Patenga outer anchorage of Chattogram Port.
She said, no negligence or laxity in testing the quality of food grains would be tolerated. She instructed officials to scrupulously follow prescribed parameters and standard testing protocols.
Addressing officials of the Directorate General of Food, the Minister reminded them that safeguarding food security is a critical public service responsibility. She urged staff members to prioritize public welfare, assuring them that professional dedication and honesty would be duly recognized.
The inspection was attended by the Director General of the Directorate General of Food, senior ministry officials, and representatives from the Chattogram District Administration.
