Flight operations resume at Chattogram airport

Chattogram Correspondent

The authorities have resumed flight operations at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram after a 17-hour closure due to severe Cyclone Remal.

The operational activities, including aircraft take-off and landing, began at 5am on Monday, according to CNS Engineer Ibrahim Khalil, also the public relations officer of the airport.

On Sunday, the authorities halted flight operations from 12pm to 8pm due to the effects of the cyclonic storm. The suspension was later extended by nine hours to 5am on Monday.

It rained heavily overnight until the morning, but the intensity of the rain subsided around 9:30am. However, it is still drizzling in the port city.
