Family says murder, rumors suicide, human chain on Patgram highway demanding justice. It is learnt,
A young man named Firoz Hossain (20) has died mysteriously in a clash centered on tree cutting in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat. Although the deceased's family has since claimed it was a planned murder, rumors of suicide are being heard from a section of locals.

The incident took place in Ward No. 5 of Patgram Municipality in Lalmonirhat. The victim's family has filed a direct murder complaint against three people from the same area, Shahin, Sablu and Swadhin.

Local sources said that the accused had been in a heated dispute with Firoz over cutting trees for a long time. As a result of the dispute, Firoz was seriously injured at one stage and later died.

After Feroz's death, there was a huge uproar and confusion on social media about whether the incident was a murder or a suicide. However, the common people of the area are not finding the courage to speak out on the matter. Although attempts were made to contact the three accused to verify the veracity of the news and take their statements, none of them could be found.

Meanwhile, when Firoz's body reached his house after the autopsy, his relatives and locals erupted in anger. They demanded a fair trial in the incident and the speedy arrest of the accused, and a human chain program was held in front of the deceased's house at the inter-district intersection of Patgram Upazila Sadar for about 2 hours from 5 pm on Monday, August 3. This completely stopped the movement of vehicles on that important road for some time.

Upon receiving the news, the police and local political leaders arrived at the scene and assured them of a fair trial and necessary legal action. The protesters lifted the human chain and blockade around 8:30 pm.

The deceased was later buried in the presence of locals. Police said they will investigate the matter and take necessary legal action.
