Family demands trial of those responsible for killing in police custody

Family members of the victims, who were killed in police custody, today demanded trial of the law enforcement agencies members responsible for the killings in police custody in the name of remand during the last 15 years.
They made the demand at a human chain formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club under the banner of ‘Voice of Victim’s family’ where they placed a 5-point demand.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to the interim government’s Home Adviser Lt.Gen. (retd.) M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
The five-point demand also included conducting fresh investigations on each arrest, death in custody and killing by law enforcers, forming an independent investigation commission and taking actions against the officers of police stations concerned.
They also demanded providing jobs and compensation to the victim's family members and beginning trial procedure arresting the person responsible immediately.
The family members further demanded to disclose detailed information of the assets of each law enforcement agency member involved in such heinous activities.
