
Emergency meeting of DU Proctoral Committee takes five decisions amid quota movement

In the situation arising in Dhaka University, an emergency meeting of the Proctoral Committee of the University on Tuesday was held with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal in the chair.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar, Treasurer Professor Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed and members of the Proctoral Committee were present.
In the meeting, after reviewing the overall situation of the university, the following decisions were taken to maintain the peaceful learning environment of the university: (1) Outside entry to Dhaka University campus today is completely prohibited and students are being instructed to carry valid identity cards; (2) advised to notify law enforcement if anyone suspicious is identified on campus;
(3) weapons of any kind at student assemblies; For example, the carrying of sticks, bricks, firearms etc. is prohibited; (iv) all are instructed to refrain from acts of vandalism and strict action will be taken as per University rules if anyone indulges in acts of vandalism; (5) All are requested to desist from spreading any kind of rumors and making inflammatory statements regarding the ongoing quota reform movement.
In the meeting, everyone involved in maintaining the peaceful environment of education in the university and ensuring the safety of the students was called upon to behave responsibly.
