Elimination of communalism main challenge for AL: Quader

Communalism is still the main obstacle in the way of consolidating the country’s victory and achievement, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Saturday.
“Even after 75 years of inception, communalism is still the main challenge for Awami League. We will have to forge a unity to eliminate communalism,” Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges minister, said.
The ruling Awami League is all set to celebrate the party’s 75th founding anniversary to be held at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on Sunday.
While talking to reporters after inspecting the meeting venue, he said the greatest achievement of the Bengali nation had been ensured under the leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Besides, the country's overall development has been ensured under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said the Awami League leader.
He said the message of this year’s founding anniversary is to involve the country’s new generation in the development agenda and to implement the party’s electoral manifesto.
“Our Prime Minister has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, dishonest businessmen, and corrupt individuals. However, there is a certain group actively conspiring to label politicians as corrupt,” he said.
