Educational institutions to reopen in phases: Minister

Educational institutions across the country would reopen in phases, Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury said on Tuesday.
“We want to open educational institutions gradually considering public safety and risk,” he said at a press conference after a meeting at the secretariat.
The minister, however, did not go into detail over the reopening of various levels of institutions.
Earlier, seven cabinet members, including Mohibul Hassan, four secretaries, and chiefs of the law enforcement agencies sat for a meeting to discuss the contemporary issues of the country.
On Monday, Mohibul said the situation was not conducive to reopening the educational institutions that were closed due to the recent violence.
The government shut indefinitely all the educational institutions in the country in mid-July as violence escalated during the quota reform movement.
