EC extends 90 days for Gaibandha-5 by-polls

Election Commissioner (EC) has extended 90 days for Gaibandha-5 by-polls.
The decision was announced in a press release issued by SM Asaduzzaman, Joint Secretary of Election Commission, on Wednesday.
As per the constitution, if a parliamentary seat falls vacant, the election for the seat must be held within 90 days. However, Election Commission can extend time if the polls cannot be held within 90 days.
The EC postponed Gaibandha-5 by-polls on October 12 for a massive irregularities.
