Election Commissioner Md. Anisur Rahman in Rangamati said that no biased behavior can be done to conduct a free, fair, impartial and acceptable election. Instructions are given on everything to be done for a fair election.

He said, that the Ministry of Home Affairs has given instructions to recover illegal arms in the hills. At the same time vigilance should be increased so that no one can make illegal use of legal weapons.

On Monday (November 27) morning, on the occasion of the 12th National Assembly elections, an exchange meeting was held with the Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, members of law and order forces and election-related persons of Rangamati and Khagrachari hill districts in the conference room of Rangamati district administration organized by the Election Commission of Bangladesh and in cooperation with the Rangamati district administration. At the end, he said these things to the journalists.

Chittagong Additional Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Anwar Pasha presided over the discussion meeting Rangamati District Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan, Khagrachari District Commissioner Md. Sahiduzzaman along with the Superintendent of Police of Rangamati and Khagrachari districts, BGB, RAB, Ansar and VDP were present.

Also present were upazila executive officers, district election officers, officers in charge of all upazilas and upazila election officers of Rangamati and Khagrachari districts.

Election Commissioner Md. Anichur Rahman answered various questions of the journalists after the meeting. He said that already 50 countries have applied for election observation. We will encourage as many local and foreign observers as possible. We want more observer teams to come and see the election. Let them watch and analyze the election.

In response to the questions of the journalists, he said that participating not in the elections is a matter of the political party's own decision. We urge them to participate in the elections. It is not for us to see who will participate in the election and who won't. All kinds of instructions have been given for the smooth conduct of the election. He told reporters that strict legal action will be taken against those concerned if this is violated.
