In a bid to encourage research and innovation, enhance academic excellence, and inspire scholars, the University of Dhaka is set to organise the ‘DU Research Excellence Recognition 2025’ ceremony on Friday at 4:30 PM at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban.

The event will honour DU researchers whose scholarly articles were published in high-impact journals between January and December 2024. It aims to motivate young researchers, foster connections between policymakers and academics, and promote DU’s research initiatives on national and international platforms. The initiative is also expected to contribute positively to the university’s standing in global rankings.

The programme will consist of two sessions:Professor Dr. Sayma Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration), University of Dhaka
Special Focus: Role of higher education in sustainable growth and development, with insights from industry and alumni representatives
Chief Guest: Professor Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque, President, Bangla AcademyChair: Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education), University of Dhaka

About 300 distinguished faculty members and researchers from various departments and institutes will be honoured for their research and intellectual contributions.
Chief Guest: Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, Adviser, Planning Ministry
Special Guest: Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiq-ul-Abar, Adviser, Ministry of Education
Chair: Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka
