DU Pali and Buddhist Studies Department Alumni Assoc re-union held

The first reunion of the Dhaka University Pali and Buddhist Studies Department Alumni Association was held on Saturday at the Student-Teacher Center Auditorium.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as the chief guest at the event.

The event was presided over by Rabindra University Pro-Vice Chancellor and Departmental Professor Dr. Suman Kanti Baro-ya, while Dhaka University Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan were present as special guests.

Kishoreganj Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University Vice-Chancellor and Departmental Professor Dr. Dilip Kumar Baro-ya, Buddhist Welfare Trust Trust Trustee Professor Dr. Sukomal Baroya and Assistant Proctor and Associate Professor of the Department Dr. Shantu Baroya spoke as the guests of honor. Chairperson of the Department Dr. Niru Baroya delivered the welcome speech. Member-Secretary of the Pali and Buddhist Studies Department Alumni Association Md. Anwar Hossain Tarafdar expressed the vote of thanks. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan highlighted the role of alumni in the development of the university and said that the university should be taken forward with the collective efforts of all.

Alumni play an important role in the development of education and research in renowned universities of the world. He called on the alumni to cooperate in building a prosperous nation by developing students as skilled human resources.
