Dr. Sabrina speaks out about DB Harun, terms cases against her political motivated
Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj
Dr. Sabrina Husain Mishti, Executive Director of Bandini Foundation, spoke out about former DB (Detective Branch) Chief Harun.
She alleged "He ( Hsrun) unofficially called me and personally asked me to visit the office. He called multiple times, urging me to come.
To achieve political goals, I was harassed with a false case. During that time, the government's failure to manage the COVID-19 pandemic was becoming evident, and this false case was orchestrated to divert public attention. I was not even listed as an accused in the case nor involved in the allegations. I had no connection with the organization targeted in the case."
On Saturday morning , she shared this during a press interaction at a free medical camp organized by Bandini Foundation at Bhabanathpur Primary School in Sonargaon, Narayanganj.
The camp provided free medical care to over 200 patients and distributed free medicines.
Dr. Sabrina revealed explosive details about former DB Chief Harun, stating, "During the case against me, Harun was the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Tejgaon zone. I was implicated in a case under Tejgaon Police Station.
Later, he unofficially called me multiple times, asking me to visit the station. When I was summoned to Tejgaon Police Station, I met him, and he questioned me about which medical college I attended and my BCS batch. After these two questions, he arrested me. However, in the media, he fabricated stories to justify my arrest."
She further stated, "It was a staged drama. During the previous Awami League government, Harun enjoyed orchestrating drama—whether for implementing government actions or his personal agenda. My case was no different. He staged a politically motivated drama, summoned me, and showed me as arrested. I firmly believe it was a completely politically motivated case."
