Dr Bahar made new IGP, Sajjat Ali DMP Commissioner

The government today appointed Dr Baharul Alam as the New Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Sheikh Mohhamad Sajjat Ali as new Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
According to separate gazette notifications of the Public Administration Ministry said, both of them were given a two-year contractual appointment.
They were given the contractual appointment on condition of severing all working relations with any other professions, business or government, semi-government and private organisations.
Dr Baharul Alam will join as 33rd IGP and Sajjat Ali as 38th Commissioner of the DMP. Both are from the sixth batch (84-batch) of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination.
Dr Bahar served in various capacities in the police department at home and abroad and went on retirement in 2020.
Sheikh Sajjat Ali also served in police department in various positions. He was sent to force retirement in September 2016.
