Don't pressurize the children : JnU VC

Don't put too much pressure on children to study. Don't make them robots. This increases the tendency of commit suicide among students. We should be careful about developing the child's mental health.
On Thursday (January 25), the Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University Professor Dr. Sadeka Halim said these at the chief guest speech on the 21st founding anniversary programme of the HEED International School.
She added that now-a-days parents start competing for their children's GPA five at the school gate. Why did children get four out of five great points in education? Many are worried about it. In the context of our country, children's development opportunities are very limited, city children get more opportunities than rural children.
Head International School principal Tolbert Dobe along with teachers, students and parents of the school were present on the occasion.
