Distributor fined for selling fertilizer at high price in Kalapara

The mobile court fined a farmer for selling fertilizer at an additional price, ignoring the price fixed by the government at Kalapara in Patuakhali.
Santosh Karmakar, the representative of M/S Kalapara Enterprises, was fined Tk 50,000 in Pakhimara Bazaar of Upazila Nilganj UP on Saturday afternoon.
Upazila Nirbahi Magistrate and Executive Officer conducted this operation based on the complaints of local farmers. Jahangir Hossain. Earlier, Jahangir Hossain asked a passerby to buy fertilizer from that institution in a novel manner. Later, the people in charge of the mobile court appeared at the spot because of the extra price for the sale of 5 types of fertilizers.
Jahangir Hossain said, "In the morning, after receiving complaints from farmers, I myself sent one person to that shop to check first." Later I saw that the representative Santosh Karamkar was selling at a higher price than the government fixed price. So he was fined. He also said that this operation will continue.
