Discussion, rally held in Mymensingh on International Disaster Reduction Day

A large-scale rally, a discussion meeting, and an earthquake and fire safety awareness drill were held in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mymensingh today, marking International Disaster Reduction Day 2026.
Organised by the Mymensingh District Administration and initiated by the District Relief and Rehabilitation Office, the event commenced at 10:00 am on Tuesday on the Deputy Commissioner's office premises.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Reza Mohammad Golam Masum Pradhan attended the programme as the chief guest on behalf of the Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Azim Uddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shirin Akhter, representative of the Superintendent of Police Inspector Mohammad Dulal Akand, and Assistant Director of Mymensingh Fire Service and Civil Defence Purna Chandra Mutsuddi were present as special guests.
The discussion meeting was presided over by District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Engineer Md. Rezaul Karim, while Mohammad Alamgir Kabir, head of the District Relief and Rehabilitation Office, provided overall supervision.
A large number of spectators and local residents attended the rally, discussion, and practical demonstration drills on fire safety and earthquake preparedness.
