Disaster Preparedness Day celebrated with various events in Dimla

On the occasion of the National Disaster Preparedness Day-2024 celebrations, rallies, discussions and awareness exercises were held at Dimla, Nilphamari, like every year, with the theme of "Fight for Disaster Preparedness, Build Smart Bangladesh".
On the occasion, on Sunday morning, organized by the Upazila Administration and Disaster Management Department and with the support of the non-governmental organization ESDO, a colorful disaster preparedness rally came out from the front of the administrative building, went around the main roads of the city and met in the upazila administrative building hall hall.
Under the chairmanship of Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Farzana Akhtar, Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-1 (Domar-Dimla) Constituency, Vir Muktijodha Alhaj Aftab Uddin Sarkar was present as the chief guest.
Upazila Parishad chairman Tabibul Islam, a brave freedom fighter, spoke as a special guest. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mejbahur Rahman spoke, Upazila Additional Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Shamima Yasmin, Fisheries Officer Shamima Akhter, Dimla High School Principal Lutfar Rahman, Area Manager of ESDO Abdul Gani, Dimla Fire Service Civil Defense Fire FighterSheikh Riaz Uddin Ahmed.He gave an awareness speech on dealing with disasters and rescue operations after earthquakes and what can be done to prevent any disaster.
