Dinajpur zone to be given priority in next survey, settlement operation : Land Minister

Land Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda said Dinajpur zone will be given priority in the next land survey and settlement operation. It is to be noted that Panchagarh district is under Dinajpur Survey and Settlement Zone.

Land Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda said this while talking to reporters after visiting Panchagarh Sadar Upazila Settlement Office on Sunday.

Director General of Land Record and Survey Department Anis Mahmud and Dinajpur Zonal Settlement Officer Md Shamsul Azam were present at that time. Among others, officials of the Ministry of Land were present.

The Land Minister also told the media that the security of citizen data is being given the highest priority in setting up smart land services. He said that after the digitization of land registration management under the Ministry of Law, smart mutation, land development tax, Record of Rights and map services will be synchronized with land registration services. This is part of the government's overall smart land management plan. As a result, land service recipients will get the necessary land services more easily and quickly.

Land Minister also said that zero tolerance has been declared against corruption in land management under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. As part of this, the online service dashboard is being monitored regularly as well as surprise visits to the land office at the field level are being increased. If there is any irregularity, regular action is being taken subject to investigation and will be taken.

The minister requested the journalists to convey the news of development and good works to the people. He stressed the need for constructive criticism by the media.

Earlier, the land minister visited Tetulia Upazila Land Office in Panchagarh. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md Abdul Kader, UNO Md Fazle Rabbi and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Mahbubul Hasan were present on the occasion. Among others, officials of the Ministry of Land were present.

The Land Minister talked to the land service recipients coming to the aforementioned two offices and wanted to know about the quality of services. The minister sought suggestions from them on improving land services. When some land service recipients reported their problems, the land minister directed the officials concerned to take necessary steps in this regard.
