German based logistics company 'DHL' has opened its branch in Barishal on Sunday.

This company is going to expand in southern region of Bangladesh to provide courier, package delivery and express mail services.

The company officially inaugurated its divisional office adjacent to Hatim Ali College on Navagram Road in Bad Asar.

Kazi Miraj Mahmud, former General Secretary of Senior Journalist Press Club of Barishal and Humayon Kabir, Barishal Bureau Chief of ATN News, inaugurated the institution with simple arrangements and ribbon cutting. People from different classes and professions including civil society, journalists participated in the inaugural event.

Mirza Rimon, Editor and Publisher of the organization's Barisal area Karandhar Desh township newspaper, said that German-based logistics company 'DHL' has been providing services to various divisional cities or district towns of the country including Dhaka for so long, but its activities in the southern township were not so dynamic. As a result, the people of Barisal were deprived of the desired service in the transportation of goods from abroad. Mirza Rimon said that DHL's official journey on Sunday will play a helpful role in meeting the needs of Barisal residents and expatriate Bangladeshis in the coming days. Before this, the institution's branch office was inaugurated and prayers were organized.

The good news is that it is possible to send any product from abroad to the country within a short time through DHL and there is no chance of suffering in any way. Professor Arifur Rahman, Barisal Model School and College Lecturer Mamun, General Secretary of Bangladesh Christian Association Barisal Albert Ballav Ripon, Yugantar Patrika Barisal Bureau Office Staff Reporter and Desh Janpad Patrika Executive Editor SN Palash, Rupali Bangladesh Patrika Barisal Bureau Chief were present at the opening ceremony in the afternoon. And Barishal Times News Editor Hasibul Islam, Desh Janpad Managing editor of the newspaper Sajib, joint convener of Barisal district volunteer team Shahin, prominent businessman Tuhin and Spanish expatriate Shamim Reza among dignitaries were present.
