Daring robbery in Tongi house

A daring robbery committed at Tongi in Gazipur, where the members of a house were held hostage at gunpoint and the robbers looted the cash and gold ornaments from the house.
The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday at the house of Farooq Ahmed of Satish Paschimpara Darail Road. Tongi Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tongi West Police Station OC, CID and PBI visited the spot.
The owner of the house, Farooq, said that around 3 o'clock on Wednesday night, a group of 7/8 armed robbers entered the house by cutting the grill of the second floor kitchen of the three-storey house of Farooq Ahmed in that area. They took family members hostage at gunpoint and tied their hands and feet.
Meanwhile, the robbers broke the cupboards and wardrobes of the house and looted Tk 11 lakh cash, about 20 pieces of gold ornaments and 5 mobile phones. After receiving the information from the National Emergency Service 999, senior officials of various police agencies visited the robbery site on Thursday morning.
OC of Tongi West Police Station Shah Alam said that the policemen under the leadership of AC Mehdi Hasan of GMP Tongi Zone are inspecting the spot. The investigation is underway with the help of information technology.
Legal action in this regard is under process.
