Cultural activities must be increased to eradicate drugs : Feni SP Pratyush Kumar Majumdar

Feni Police Superintendent Pratyush Kumar Majumdar said that the more cultural activities there are, the lower the rate of drug addiction in the society will be. Now the playgrounds are empty. Instead of going to the field, everyone is playing online. They need to be brought from there to the playground. They need to be involved in cultural activities. Currently, the police are arresting those involved in drugs. They are released on bail a few days later and get involved in drugs again. Therefore, cultural activities need to be increased to eradicate drugs.
Police Superintendent Pratyush Kumar Majumdar said these while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting, cultural program and honor ceremony titled Non-Secular Nazrul organized by the Sur Niketan Cultural Center in Feni on Friday last.
The event, chaired by the organization's president, journalist Jasim Mahmud, and jointly moderated by General Secretary Dolan Banik and FI Firozi, featured special guests including Star Line Group Vice Chairman Zafar Uddin and District Jamaat Cultural Secretary Md. Ilias. Advocate Saifuddin Shahin presented the keynote address at the beginning of the event.
Former Feni Press Club president Rabiul Haque Robi, prominent organizer Emon ul Haque, Kazi Iqbal Ahmed Paran, former Dhalia Union Parishad chairman and former district Jubo Dal president Zaker Hossain Jasim, former Kalidaha Union Parishad chairman and union BNP president Nurul Haque Liton spoke.
At the event, all the daily newspapers of Feni, 65 social-volunteer and cultural organizations, including distinguished individuals in various categories for their special contributions to Feni, were presented with honorary crests. Later, the audience and attendees enjoyed a special cultural program presented by members of Sur Niketan.
