Cultivation of unused agri land acquired by Payra Port to its own owners demanded

A human chain was formed demanding that the unused agricultural land acquired by Payra Port of Patuakhali should be given an opportunity to the self-owners to cultivate it without leasing it.
An hour-long human chain was held at Banati Bazar of Lalua Union at eleven o'clock on Tuesday.
Chairman of Lalua Union Shaukat Hossain Tapan Biswas, farmer Jasim Uddin Mridha, Mojibar Pada, Ibrahim Saugar and Sajal Biswas spoke on the occasion.
Speakers said that many affected owners have not yet realized the value of the land acquired by Payra port. Their families are farming these acquired lands. On top of that, instead of leasing these lands to the affected people, the port authorities are running the process of leasing them to outsiders. Therefore, if their demands are not accepted, they warned to take more strict program.
