Commonwealth secy gen congratulates PM Hasina on election victory

Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland on Tuesday greeted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her victory in the 12th parliamentary election.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Patricia said, “My congratulations to Prime Minister @SheikhHasina on your electoral victory.
“The @Commonwealthsec stands ready to partner with Bangladesh to achieve national priorities, & looks forward to working with you for the people of #Bangladesh, & all members of our #CommonwealthFamily.”
In the general election held on Sunday, Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League secured a landslide victory in the polls, paving the way for the party to form the government for the fourth consecutive term.
