The sale of TCB products in Gobindaganj of Gaibandha has not yet started. Even after 16 days of Ramadan, none of the 19 dealers have started selling TCB products.

As a result, common people with TCB cards expressed frustration and anger as they could not buy products at low prices.

It is known that every year in Ramadan to keep the market of daily commodities normal, the government agency TCB (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh) starts selling products among TCB card holders. 19 dealers in 17 unions and 1 municipality in Gobindganj upazila have not started selling their products yet. As a result, common people are deprived of the benefits of this initiative of the government.

According to Gobindaganj Upazila Project Implementation Office sources, there are 19 dealers to sell TCB products in Gobindaganj Upazila. They are - M/s Swapneel Stores, M/s NR Traders, M/s Aminul Momin, M/s Rangdhanu Traders, M/s Bhai Bhai Krishi Ghar, M/s Rokeya & Consumers, M/s Ma Baba Traders, M/s Ibrahim Traders, M/s Jayshree Enterprises, M/s Mehdi Traders, M/s. Utpal Traders, M/s Madina Traders, M/s Masud Traders, M/s Naim Variety Store, M/s Bhai Bon Traders, M/s KN Traders, M/s High Traders, M/s Masud Seeds, M/s ¯eha Traders.

When contacted, Mehdi Mamun, the owner of Mehdi Traders, dealer of TCB, said that we have not received the allocation of TCB products so far. So TCB could not even sell the product. But there is a possibility to get allotment within 3/4 days.

A person with a TCB card from Gobindaganj city who came to buy products in the market expressed his anger and said that even though 16 days of Ramadan have passed, we are deprived of buying products at low prices from the government organization TCB. We would have benefited a lot if TCB started selling low-priced products in the first week of Ramadan. I think it is necessary to pay attention to the administration in this regard.

Gobindaganj Upazila Project Implementation Officer Jinder Ali said, I am in constant contact. Due to late receipt of oil allocation, dealers are getting delayed in allocation. But within 2/3 days dealers will get allotment and then sale of low price TCB products will start.
