The Bangladesh Coast Guard has significantly intensified its round-the-clock maritime patrols and tactical surveillance across coastal border zones to safeguard territorial sovereignty and ensure robust national security.

Giving an update on current border dynamics, Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon, the Media Officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, informed this in a press release on Friday afternoon that no incidents of illegal cross-border push-ins have been recorded so far within the agency's maritime jurisdiction.

According to Coast Guard officials, the law enforcement agency is working in close coordination with other state security and intelligence organizations to establish a watertight defense against unauthorized entry along vulnerable border frontiers. Security measures have been extensively upgraded across strategic riverine and coastal passages, including the vast labyrinth of the Sundarbans mangrove forests.

To ensure foolproof monitoring, the Coast Guard has deployed an array of sophisticated technologies alongside traditional naval patrols. Enhanced intelligence gathering networks, real-time drone surveillance systems, and modern thermal and electronic monitoring devices are being utilized along the Bangladesh-India maritime and riverine borders to detect and intercept any unauthorized vessel movements instantly.

Lieutenant Commander Sujon urged maritime communities and conscious citizens to act as the eyes and ears of the state. He appealed to the public to immediately share any information regarding illegal border crossings, human trafficking, or suspected push-in attempts by dialing the Coast Guard's emergency hotline number 16111.

He reiterated that the Coast Guard remains fiercely committed to preventing illegal infiltration and will sustain its heightened state of operational readiness to foil any threats to national security.
