Coast Guard seized 90,000 yaba pills worth Tk 4.5 cr in Cox’s Bazar

Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 90,000 yaba tablets estimated to be worth Tk 4.5 crore during an anti-narcotics operation off Shah Pari's Dwip in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on Wednesday morning.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said this in a press release on Wednesday rnoon.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf and Outpost Shah Pari conducted a special drive in the Golar Char sea area near Shah Pari's Dwip around 7:00 AM. During the operation, Coast Guard personnel signaled a suspicious wooden engine-driven boat to stop. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the smugglers fled the scene.
A subsequent search of the surrounding waters led to the recovery of a floating bag containing 90,000 yaba tablets.
The process to take further legal measures regarding the seized narcotics has been taken.
