Coast Guard rescues, provides emergency medical aid to ill passenger on launch via 16111 helpline

Responding to an emergency call via its helpline 16111, the Bangladesh Coast Guard provided critical medical assistance to a seriously ill passenger aboard a moving passenger launch.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Suzon informed this in a press release on Saturday evening.
According to the official briefing, a woman boarded the passenger launch MV Rof Rof-7 from Chandpur on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM, accompanying her ailing husband to Dhaka for advanced medical treatment. When the vessel reached the area adjacent to Shatnol at around 3:00 PM, the patient's condition sharply deteriorated, turning critical. A fellow passenger onboard immediately dialed the Coast Guard emergency helpline 16111 to seek urgent intervention.
Acting swiftly on the distress call, a medical team from Coast Guard Station Pagla intercepted the launch and administered necessary emergency medical aid onboard. To facilitate rapid hospitalization, the patient was subsequently transferred to a Coast Guard boat and brought to Sadarghat, from where transport was arranged to rush him to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (Mitford Hospital).
The Coast Guard reaffirmed that its personnel remain constantly dedicated to public service and disaster response, pledging to maintain this commitment in the future.
