Coast Guard rescued 8 fishermen from broken-down boat in deep sea

Bangladesh Coast Guard rescued eight fishermen alive along with a broken-down fishing boat that had been drifting in the deep sea.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said this in a press release on Friday morning.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon stated that the fishing vessel, carrying eight fishermen, suffered an engine failure around 11:00 AM on Saturday, while fishing in the deep sea approximately 11 nautical miles south of Kokilmoni in the Sundarbans. The vessel remained stranded and drifting in the sea for several days.
On Thursday at 3:00 PM, after entering mobile network coverage, one of the stranded fishermen called the boat owner to report their situation. The owner immediately sought assistance from the Coast Guard West Zone.
Upon receiving the information, Coast Guard Station Kokilmoni promptly launched a rescue operation in the deep sea, successfully locating and rescuing all eight fishermen alive along with the disabled fishing boat.
The rescued fishermen were provided with first aid and necessary food supplies following the operation. The Coast Guard is currently carrying out the formal process of handing over the fishermen and the boat to the owner's representatives.
The Coast Guard will continue to conduct emergency search and rescue operations to ensure safety at sea.
