Coast Guard rescued 3 fishermen alive from island in Bay of Bengal

Coast Guard has rescued 3 fishermen alive from an island in the Bay of Bengal.

Lt. Commander Khandokar Munif Taki, Media Officer of the Coast Guard, said that on Monday (October 30), at around 8:30 a.m., the Coast Guard West Zone vessel rescued 3 fishermen alive from the nearby area of Mandarbaria Island adjacent to the Sundarbans while patrolling the Tawfiq operation and Ma Elisha rescue operation.

All the rescued fishermen are residents of Koira police station in Khulna district.

It is noted that on October 28, while fishing in the Mandarbaria area near the Sundarbans, the engine of the fishermen's boat broke down and floated uncontrollably and at one point the boat sank. Later the fishermen took refuge in North Mandarbaria Island.

Bangladesh Coast Guard ship Tawfik rescued fishermen were given food and basic treatment. Who has been handed over to the families of rescued fishermen.
