Coast Guard provides free medical care, medicines to 221 people in Mongla

The Bangladesh Coast Guard organized a free medical campaign and distributed essential medicines to underprivileged people at Joymoni in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat district on Wednesday.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon disclosed the information in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.

Under the management of Coast Guard Base Mongla, the medical camp was conducted at Joymoni High School from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday . During the four-hour campaign, a total of 221 helpless, poor, and destitute individuals, including children, received comprehensive healthcare consultations and necessary medications entirely free of charge.

The press release said since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has consistently stepped forward to address the various needs of marginalized communities living in coastal and riverine areas. As part of its social responsibilities, the force regularly extends healthcare support to low-income and distressed families through such dedicated medical campaigns.
