
Coast Guard operation: 8- kg cannabis seized in Chandpur

The Bangladesh Coast Guard conducted an operation in Chandpur on Friday,
seizing approximately 8 kilograms of cannabis valued at around 2 lakh 40 thousand taka on Saturday morning.Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid shared this information through a press release.
The press release said , based on confidential information, a special operation was conducted by the Chandpur Coast Guard Station at around 10 PM on Friday in the area adjacent to Chandpur Sadar Launch Ghat. During the operation, a search was carried out on the Gomati-1 launch traveling from Barisal to Dhaka, where approximately 8 kilograms of cannabis, valued at around 2 lakh 40 thousand taka, was seized in an abandoned state.
The process for taking further legal action regarding the seized cannabis is underway.
To maintain the country's law and order situation, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been conducting round-the-clock patrols.
