Coast Guard detained drug dealer with 7,500 pieces if Yaba in Patuakhali

The Bangladesh Coast Guard detained a suspected drug trafficker and seized 7,500 pieces of Yaba tablets during a specialized operation in Patuakhali district early Thursday morning.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon disclosed this in a press release on Thursday afternoon, stating that the seized contraband has an estimated market value of about Tk 37.50 lakh.
Acting on a secret tip-off, a special operational team from Coast Guard Station Patuakhali conducted a targeted raid at around 4:30 AM in the area adjacent to the Lebukhali Toll Plaza under Dumki Police Station.
During the drive, law enforcers intercepted a suspicious passenger bus and carried out a thorough search. The team successfully recovered the massive haul of Yaba tablets along with Tk 4,045 in cash from the possession of the suspect, leading to his immediate arrest.
The detained individual, the seized narcotics, and the cash are currently being processed for subsequent legal actions through the local police station.
