Coast Guard - police joint operation : Two notorious dacoit, female aide, gold trader arrested in Hatiya

In a joint operation by the Coast Guard and police in Hatiya, Noakhali, two notorious  robbers, one  female accomplice and one  gold trader were arrested along with 5 firearms and stolen gold.
 
 Coast Guard Headquarters Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid provided  this information in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The press release said that based on a secret information, a special operation was conducted in the remote area of Burirchar Union under Hatia Upazila of Noakhali from 2 am on Monday to 8 am on July 1 in coordination with Bangladesh Coast Guard Station Hatiya  and the police.
 
 During the operation, two active members of Shamim Dakat Bahini, Md. Sohel (23), Md. Sumon Uddin (35) and female associate Md. Parul Begum (32) were arrested from the said area along with 5 domestic firearms, weapon-making equipment, equipment used in robbery, 2 bottles of anesthetic medicine, 2.12 annas of stolen gold-plated copper bangles and 10.13 annas of stolen silver ornaments. 
 
Later, according to the information given by the robbers, 20.4 rati 8 points of gold ornaments stolen at different times were recovered from Priya Jewelers of Maijdi Bazar in Sonadia Union.
 
 Meanwhile, Uzzalal Banik (42), owner of Priya Jewelers, was arrested for his involvement in the stolen gold trade and stockpiling.
 
The arrested robber and his female accomplice are residents of Burir Char area under Hatia Upazila of Noakhali, and the gold trader who stole the stolen gold is a resident of Lakshidia area of Oskhali under the same upazila.
Legal action is being taken against all the seized evidence, including the arrested robber, the female accomplice of the robber group, and the stolen gold merchant.
 
Bangladesh Coast Guard has been conducting 24-hour patrols to maintain law and order in the country. Through this, the law and order situation in the coastal and riverine areas under the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard has improved to a great extent. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future as well.
