
CMRU election : Abir elected President, Sajjad Secretary

The election of the Chattogram Multimedia Reporters' Unity (CMRU), one of the most united platforms of multimedia journalists in Chattogram, has been completed. Md. Abir Ahmed of Kaler Kantho has been elected as President, while Md. Sajjad Hossain of Bangladesh Times has been elected as General Secretary.
Voting began at 10:00 AM on Saturday at the Engineer Abdul Khaleq Auditorium of the Chattogram Press Club and continued until 1:00 PM.
The official results were announced at 3:00 PM by Md. Shah Newaz, President of the CMJU. Kazi Abul Monsur, President of the Chattogram Reporters Forum; Jalal Uddin Sagor, Chattogram Bureau Chief of Rupali Bangladesh; along with other prominent media figures and journalists were also present.
The election, held in a democratic manner, was overseen by Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Ali, with Rakib Uddin and Arafat Kader serving as Deputy Election Commissioners.

A festive atmosphere prevailed at the Chattogram Press Club from the morning, with a notable turnout and enthusiastic participation from journalists, making the election a peaceful and successful event.
