Five members of Majnu Group's dacoit gang arrested in Rajbari

Joint forces arrested five members of the Majnu Group, an extortion and robbery gang, along with a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, in a joint operation in the Saorail area of Kalukhali upazila in Rajbari district.
The arrested are Md. Mojibur Rahman, Sajeda Begum, Abu Sayem, Md. Sultan Ali Molla and Jasim Mondal, members of the Majnu Group, an extortion and robbery gang identified in Jamalpur, Saorail areas of Kalukhali upazila.
On Friday (May 23), at around 3 am, a joint operation was conducted by a team of the Bangladesh Army's Rajbari Army Camp based on secret information. During the operation, a raid was conducted at the house of Md. Mojibur Rahman in Jamalpur, Saorail area of Saorail Union of Kalukhali Upazila and they were arrested along with 1 9 mm. M. Pistol (Made in USA), 1 pistol magazine, 15 rounds of ammunition, 3 one-shooter guns, 1 baton, 2 knives, 1 hockey stick, 3 smartphones, 3 button phones, 3 national identity cards, 2 checkbooks, 2 liquor bottles, 2 ATM cards, 3 passports, 1 laser pointer and 1 driving license. The arrested accused had been conducting organized extortion and robbery activities in Pangsha and Kalukhali Upazilas for a long time under the umbrella of the Majnu Group.
After the operation, the arrested persons and the recovered weapons, ammunition and other equipment were handed over to Kalukhali Police Station for legal proceedings. Locals expressed relief over the successful operation of the joint forces.
Kalukhali Police Station OC Mohammad Jahedur Rahman said, "Five extortionists and robbers of the Majnu Group have been arrested along with a large quantity of weapons and ammunition in a joint operation. A case has been filed against them under the Arms and Explosives Act."
