The closing and prize distribution ceremony of the National School, Madrasa, and Technical Education Sports Competition organized by the National School, Madrasa, and Technical Education Sports Association was held on Sunday. The two-day competition took place from October 11–12 in Moulvibazar.
The closing match and prize distribution were held at the M. Saifur Rahman National School, Madrasa, and Technical Education Sports Ground in Moulvibazar district.
The event was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Asma Sultana Nasrin, while Deputy Commissioner Md. Israil Hossain attended as the chief guest. Special guests included District Jamaat General Secretary Yameer Ali, District BNP Convening Committee Member Fakhrul Islam, NCP leader Ehsan Zakaria, journalist Nazrul Islam Muhib, and District Sports Officer Mazharul Majid.
The program began with a welcome speech by District Education Officer Md. Fazlur Rahman. After delivering his valuable remarks, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners.
The day-long sporting event featured thrilling and competitive matches. In the girls’ football final, St. Joseph High School (Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila) faced Mirzapur High School (Sreemangal Upazila). In an intense contest, St. Joseph High School’s girls’ team defeated Mirzapur High School by 2–0 goals, becoming the champion.
In the boys’ football final, Azmoni Multipurpose School and College (Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila) faced Pachgaon High School (Rajnagar Upazila). In a hard-fought match, Azmoni Multipurpose School and College won the title by 1–0, scoring the only goal in the first half.
The competition also featured notable boys’ and girls’ events including swimming, chess, football, handball, and kabaddi.
The divisional and regional level National School, Madrasa, and Technical Education Sports Competition will be held in Sylhet on October 15 and 16.
