Clash between two groups of AL in Bagha leaves 50 people injured

There was a conflict between two groups of local Awami League for supremacy. The chase between has started from 10.30 am on Saturday morning. Police was deployed after the incident. Since that incident, Bagha Upazila has been in a state of chaos.
According to the source of incident, under the banner of Bagha upazila's conscious citizens, the chairman of the upazila parishad and the joint secretary of district Awami League, Adv. Layab Uddin Lovlu and Bagha Mayor Akkash Ali staged a protest march against the extra charge at the Sub Registry Office.
On the other hand, on the same day, Bagha Upazila League called for human chain against Bagha Municipality Mayor Akkash Ali on charges of corruption, nepotism and arbitrariness. When supporters of both parties gathered at the upazila square, tension spread. At one point, at least 50 people were injured in the incident in which bricks and mortar were thrown and clashes ensued.
Bagha Upazila Awami League General Secretary Ashraful Islam Bablu, Arani Union Parishad Chairman Rafiqul Islam, Bagha Municipality Mayor Akkash Ali, former Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad inclued 50 people were injured in this incident. They were rescued and admitted to Bagha Upazila Health Complex.
Police fired TR shells and rubber bullets to bring the situation under control. In this incident, the situation is prevailing in Bagha Bazar area. In addition, MP Shahriar Alam Group and Upazila Parishad Chairman and District Awami League Joint Secretary Adv. The followers of Laib Uddin Lovelu and Bagha Mayor Akkash Ali took position at both ends of Bagha Bazaar with native weapons. Additional police have been deployed in this incident.
Bagha Upazila Health Complex THO Dr. Asaduzzaman said, 18 people have been admitted and treated here.
Many others are said to have received treatment at various places. Among them, the condition of two of them is serious and they have been referred to Rajshahi Medical Hospital (RMCH).
Bagh Upazila UNO Tariqul Islam said several people were injured in the incident. They have been treated at the upazila health complex. Additional police have been deployed to keep the situation normal in the area.
