
Chief Justice visits Dist Judge Court, grave of martyr Abu Sayeed in Rangpur

Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed, who is visiting Rangpur, visited various courts and tribunals including the Rangpur District Judge's Court on Sunday.
During this time, he exchanged views with the judges on various issues and provided necessary guidance and later visited the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed.
In the morning, when Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed reached the District Judge's Court premises, the judges welcomed him with flowers. Later, he planted a potted mango sapling in the court premises. After that, Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed visited the District Judge's Court, the Women and Children Repression Prevention Court, and the Chief Judicial Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.
At that time, Rangpur Senior District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Fazle Khoda Nazir, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Moshiar Rahman, Chief Judicial Metropolitan Magistrate Zulkar Nain and other judges were present.
In the afternoon, Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refat Ahmed visited the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed at his home in Babanpur village of Pirganj, Pirganj, in the anti-discrimination movement of Rangpur and exchanged views with his family members. He also visited the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Chattar in front of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur city.
While visiting the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Chattar in front of Gate No. 1 of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, he heard from eyewitnesses about the heroic courage of Shaheed Abu Sayeed and the sacrifice of his life for the country in front of the gate. On the occasion of the Chief Justice's arrival on the campus, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Ali, greeted him with flowers. At that time, the Chief Justice visited the place where the memory of Shaheed Abu Sayeed, a student of the English Department of Begum Rokeya University, was intertwined with the anti-discrimination student movement and spoke to the classmates and teammates of Shaheed Abu Sayeed. On July 16, 2024, Begum Rokeya heard from eyewitnesses about the heroic courage and sacrifice of Shaheed Abu Sayeed for the country in front of Gate No. 1 of the university. At that time, the Chief Justice spoke to journalists.
The Chief Justice paid deep respect to the memory of Shaheed Abu Sayeed. At that time, the Vice-Chancellor of Berobi, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Ali, informed the Chief Justice about the various activities taken by the university administration in memory of Shaheed Abu Sayeed. University Registrar Dr. Mohammad Harun-or Rashid, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Office Professor Dr. Mohammad Ilias Pramanik, Proctor Dr. Mohammad Ferdous Rahman, teachers, students, officials and employees were present.
Then the Chief Justice met and exchanged greetings with the family of martyr Abu Sayeed, who was killed in the anti-discrimination movement in Pirganj. Deputy Commissioner of the district Mohammad Rabiul Faisal and other officials were present.
Rangpur District and Sessions Judge Court, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, judicial officers at various levels working in the labor court, judges of various tribunals in Rangpur, judicial officers at various levels and lawyers including the President, General Secretary and Public Prosecutor of the Rangpur District Bar Association were present at the time.
