Heroic freedom fighter Nazrul Islam Chowdhury has won Chittagong-14 constituency consisting of Chandanish and Satkaniya twice in a row with the boat symbol.

He has already submitted the nomination form to become a Member of Parliament for the third term. However, 16 other leaders of the ruling Awami League have taken the nominations form from this seat. At least two of them are said to be obstacles to Nazrul's victory.

Nazrul Islam has a chance to win the 12th National Assembly election and make a hat trick. Colonel Oli Ahmed of LDP was supposed to be a big obstacle in that way. The former Daksite BNP leader now in EFL has not yet decided to come to the polls. Therefore, although there is a chance for Nazrul Islam to win in a practically empty field, 16 people have asked for nomination from their party Awami League to create obstacles in that way.

The issue that Nazrul Islam has faced because of seeking 16 nominations is not so. In fact, if Nazrul Islam is made a boatman this time, at least two rebel candidates want to take the nomination form. Basically, those two can be the thorn in the way of Nazrul Islam's hat-trick victory. One of these two is Aftab Mahmud Shimul, general secretary of Chandanish Upazila branch of Jatiya Sramik League. Talking to daily Bangladesh, he said, I have collected and submitted the nomination form to become a boat candidate. If for some reason the party nominates the current MP Nazrul Islam Chowdhury instead of nominating me, then I will be elected as an independent candidate. And if Nazrul nominates someone other than Islam, then I will work for the boat's candidate.

What is the cause of conflict with Nazrul Islam? In response to such questions, he said, "There is no personal dispute." I am angry because the development of the area is not being done properly.'' Again there was a proposal to set up a Chinese EPZ in the Barkal area and to bring the Shankh river under Chittagong port.

These developments did not happen due to MP's obstruction. So I have decided that if the party nominates Nazrul Islam again, then I will be an independent candidate.

Of course, Aftab Mahmud Shimul is not alone. There are several other leaders in the party who are as angry as him. Another one of them is Chandnaish Upazila Parishad Chairman Mohammad Abdul Jabbar. We have to think about it later. Those close to Jabbar and Shimul said that both of them can be independent candidates. Preparing for that goal. Both are furious with the sitting MP.

Member of Chittagong South District Awami League and President of Rehab Chittagong Mohammad Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, Upazila Jubo League leader Mir Md Mohiuddin, District Women Awami League Vice President Shahida Akhtar Jahan, Central Awami League Sub Committee Member Mamun Ul Haque Chowdhury, Imtiaz Uddin Ahmad Asif, Nashir Uddin, M Masud Alam Chowdhury, Rafiqul Islam, Kaykobad Osmani, Zahidul Islam, Abul Bashar Bhuiyan and Mahbubur Rahman are also seeking nominations.
