
Bus-CNG accident in Rangamati : Absconding driver arrested

Police arrested Nurul Abchar, the bus driver who was involved in the incident of running the bus at reckless speed and running over the passenger CNG in Rangamati last Saturday.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Administration and Finance (promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police) Mr. Maruf Ahmed confirmed this information in a press briefing to reporters regarding the arrest of the bus driver at the office of Superintendent of Police in Rangamati at 11:30 am on Thursday (November 9).
Additional Superintendent of Police Shah Newaz Raju, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Zahidul Islam, Officer (OC)Ariful Amin in charge of Kotwali police station were also present at this time.
Additional Superintendent of Police said in the press conference. Maruf Ahmad said that the driver ran away after the bus accident. Later, when a case was filed on behalf of the deceased's family, the police started an operation to arrest the driver, Nurul Abshar. Multiple teams of Rangamati District Police conducted raids in different areas.
At one stage of the operation, the bus driver Nurul Abshar was arrested from Jamiatul Sunnia Madrasa area under Chittagong Panchlaish police station at around 11:30 on the night of November 8.Legal action has been taken against the arrested accused.
Note that last November 4, 2023 AD. At 02.45 hrs, a bus running recklessly on Rangamati-Chittagong regional road under Kotyali police station of Rangamati district hit a CNG autorickshaw. The CNG-powered autorickshaw was overturned by the impact of the bus. Two passengers of the autorickshaw were killed in the incident. Four others including the autorickshaw driver were injured.
