
BSF hands over 9 Bangladeshis to BGB at Dinajpur border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) detained nine Bangladeshi citizens attempting to illegally cross into Bangladesh from India through the border area of Biral Upazila, Dinajpur district, and handed them over to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Friday at around 7 PM through a flag meeting.
The detained individuals are: Matiur Rahman (45), son of the late Khoka Mohammad from Nagarbaari village; Rafiqul Islam (38), son of the late Ashraf Ali from Manikpara village; Samiul Islam (35), son of the late Nur Mohammad from Ratnur village; Nurzamal (40), son of Monchur Ali from Okra village, all from Biral Upazila; Ramzan Ali (23), son of Aiyub Ali from Barosultanpur village; Arman Ali (25) and his brother Kajol Islam (20), sons of Mazed Ali from Mobarakpur village; Naim Hossain (23), son of the late Azizur Rahman from Gopalpur village; and Ripon Islam (27), son of Sahajul Islam, all from Bochaganj Upazila.
Biral Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Sabur confirmed that the detained individuals were handed over to the police by the BGB, and a case has been filed against them.
It is learnt that the nine individuals had illegally entered India from Bangladesh for work in various places. Due to the prevailing situation between India and Pakistan, they were attempting to return to Bangladesh illegally through brokers. On Thursday night, members of the 63 BSF Camp in South Dinajpur district, India, detained them and informed the BGB. Subsequently, on Friday evening, the nine Bangladeshis were handed over to the BGB members of Kishoreganj Camp through a flag meeting. The BGB then transferred them to Biral Police Station, where a case was filed.
OC Abdus Sabur of Biral Police Station said , the BGB filed a case against the nine Bangladeshis for illegally crossing the border. They were sent to court on Saturday.
