Body recovered from pond in Srinagar after 10 days of disappearance

The body of a man who went missing 10 days ago from Sirajdikhan Upazila in Munshiganj district has been recovered from a pond in Srinagar.

At approximately 12:30 AM last night, police recovered the body of Shamsul Hawlader (40), son of Monu Hawlader from Basail village in Sirajdikhan, from a pond located on the northern side of Majid Khan's house in Brahmankhola, Tantor Union, Srinagar Upazila.Shamsul Hawlader was reported missing on January 31, and his family filed a General Diary (GD) at Sirajdikhan police station on February 3 (GD No. 104).Following investigations, Sirajdikhan police arrested two suspects on February 10.

Upon intensive interrogation, the suspects confessed to killing Shamsul Hawlader and concealing his body. Based on their confession, a joint operation was conducted by Sirajdikhan and Srinagar police, leading to the recovery of the victim's body.

The body has been sent to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital for an autopsy, and legal proceedings.
