
Body of young man recovered from Kohliya River

Moheshkhali police have recovered the body of a young man named Mohammad Mamun (20) from the Kohliya River near the selfie gate of the Matarbari coal power project.
The deceased youth is the son of the late Abu Ahmed from the Yunuskhali area of Kalarmarchhara Union. A tense situation prevails in the area surrounding this incident.
On Saturday (26 July) at around 3:30 PM, the police recovered the body of the deceased youth from the Kohliya River near the selfie gate of the coal power project and when taken to the nearest hospital, the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
It has been reported that when the police went to recover the body, there was an altercation with the relatives of the deceased, which eventually led to a scuffle. In the evening, 3 platoons of police have been deployed on the Kalarmarchhara Afzalia Para Mir Akhtar Road. The main mystery of the murder has not yet been uncovered.
OC of Moheshkhali police station, Manjurul Haque, said that a young man's body has been recovered from the Kohliya River near the Matarbari coal power project.
The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.
