
Body of Indian citizen found floating in Ichamati river

The dead body of an Indian citizen named Ahsan Habibul Haque (45) was recovered from the Ichamati River on the Satkhira Debhata border.
The body was recovered from Komarpur area of Ichamati River on Tuesday (21 May) afternoon. The body was stuck in the Bangladesh side of border river Ichamati.
Deceased Ahsan Habibul Haque is the son of Aynal Haque of North 24 Parganas area of West Bengal state of India.
Komarpur BGB Camp Commander of Debhata Enamul Haque said that the locals informed the BGB after seeing a dead body floating in the Ichamati River on the border stuck in the Bangladesh part of the river. Later, the body was recovered in the presence of Debhata Police and BGB. The deceased was wearing a black T-shirt and jeans.
His complexion is brown. A message was sent to the Indian BSF identifying his identity through the ID card in his trouser pocket. Members of Debhata police station and 17 BGB Shakhra camp were present during the rescue.
OC of Debhata police station Sikh Mahmud said that the body of an Indian man has been recovered. The BGB has spoken to the Indian Border Guard Force. The matter will be dealt with as per government rules.
