BNP can’t be suppressed by oppression: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday said the party cannot be suppressed by resorting to oppression.
“People’s movement cannot be suppressed as their victory must come,” he told reporters after entering the party’s central office at Nayapaltan in Dhaka nearly two and half months after its closure following clashes with the police during the party’s grand rally on 28 October last year.
Rizvi said the prime minister gives lectures on democracy and holds elections among themselves. “Their wins and defeats ultimately result in their victory.”
The BNP is an active political party in the country and this party governed the nation again and again with reputation and efficiency, he said. “The central office of such a party was closed by a mafia government.”
“We entered the office by breaking the lock as the police did not give us the key,” Rizvi added.
