BNP calls dawn-to-dusk hartal in Ctg for Sunday

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Chattogram for Sunday, protesting the arrest and remand of the party’s Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
In a statement on Saturday, BNP Chattogram city, north, and south district units called the party men to observe the programme in the city and district as well.
Ambulances and vehicles of newspapers, journalists, and Fire Service and Civil Defence will remain out of the hartal purview, read the statement.
The general strike will be observed along with the pre-announced two-day blockade enforced by BNP and like-minded parties, it added.
On Thursday, BNP and other opposition parties announced a fresh 48-hour nationwide blockade starting from Sunday morning following a three-day blockade which ended on Thursday.
